Actor Rajesh Dhruva recently delved into learning to play the chenda melam and shared that it took him 15 days to master the traditional percussion instrument of Kerala. Making his Kannada film debut with Shri Balaji Photo Studio, Rajesh has now teamed up with director Sukesh Shetty for their next project titled Peter, which centers around the chenda melam. In his effort to authentically portray the role, Rajesh dedicated time to grasping the fundamentals of playing the chenda. He underwent a 15-day training period to acquire the necessary skills and also engaged in weight loss training to visually fit the part of a chenda artiste. With a goal of seamlessly integrating folk music into the narrative to offer a unique and captivating experience for the audience, Rajesh emphasized the importance of standing out in today's competitive film market. Despite his achievements in film, Rajesh expressed his intention to continue working in television as it provides a stable income. He highlighted the need to establish himself firmly in the film industry before potentially focusing on one medium.
